SUMMARY Research in Umesiri laboratory is focused on Organic Medicinal Chemistry - the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of novel bioactive compounds, ranging from antimicrobial, anticancer, to neuroprotective agents against stroke and Alzheimer’s disease. STUDENT MENTORSHIP IN RESEARCH • Mentoring undergraduate students in research is a top priority of Umesiri laboratory. Over 25 students have been trained and mentored in the lab.
